How can the citizens of Russia accept the enormous difference between people? The richest 500 Russians own more than the poorest 99.8% of the entire Russian population combined. Why don't we see any protests?

Any form of dissent is crushed immediately, and anyone even suspected of badmouthing the government is rounded up, thrown in prison and/or becomes the victim of an “accident”.

And, the regime has complete control of the media, so when an uprising or other occurrence they deem inappropriate occurs, they squash coverage of it and replace it with their propaganda.

Russia is a closed, autocratic regime controlled by a strongman and the wealthy few.

From an axiology/value theory point of view, how can one say that a diverse society is better than a uniform one, especially given the negative effects of diversity (racism, sectarian conflict, problems arising from extreme cultural relativism)?
